Our Origin

The foundation of the organization traces back to a historic meeting held on 31 August 2025 at Tezpur Sahitya Sabha Bhawan, in the district of Sonitpur, Assam. This gathering was convened by the founding members—Dip Kumar Barhai, Sonuj Tanti, and Kukheswar Manki—with the aim of addressing the pressing challenges faced by workers across the region.

The meeting brought together representatives and workers from seven districts of Assam, including daily wage labourers, painters, job card holders, masons, and other members of the unorganized workforce. It served as a platform for open dialogue on the realities of labour conditions, lack of awareness, and limited access to welfare schemes.

During this session, Dip Kumar Barhai articulated a clear and forward-looking vision for labour upliftment. He emphasized the urgent need for a united platform that could systematically support workers, ensure their rightful access to government schemes, and protect their interests through collective strength. His approach highlighted a structured and unique working methodology focused on guidance, representation, and long-term empowerment of workers.

This meeting marked the beginning of a collective movement—one rooted in unity, purpose, and commitment to improving the socio-economic condition of workers. Since then, the organization has continued to grow as a dedicated platform working towards awareness, inclusion, and sustainable development for the labour community across Assam.
